I visited this museum in Chicago, spending over 5 hours here and I still had not seen everything.  There are a few things on their website that might be useful for science and WW2.  I found it all fascinating, and one of my favourite things was the biggest model railway system I have ever seen, which desribed the growth and use of the Chicago – Seattle train link.

I have put a few more photos and finally written up a race report on my running blog.

…would you be a closet train spotter by any chance Caroline ? I think thats a bit of your ‘id’ coming to the surface. Very Freudian !!!
Perhaps the next teachmeet should be on a steam train….

Very funny! I do not think I could be described as a train spotter, but I do have a bit of a secret thing about models and things like that – one of the other displays was the inside of a fairy princess castle, a bit like a dolls house, and I loved that too! Not that I make them but I love looking at really detailed little things like that! What does that say about me?
